Post Office of India has announced bumper vacancies for the post of Gramin Dav Sevak (GDS) in a new notification on its official websit indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. Government job seekers who are interested and are eligible can apply for this recruitment drive as per prescribed format at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in on or before June 05, 2022.
A total of 38926 vacancies are available in 35 states of India. The age of the candidates should not be more than 40 years.
The candidates will be selected as Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak posts. The interesting thing is there will be no exam. Candidates will be selected through a merit list.
Knowledge of Cycling is a pre-requisite condition for all GDS posts. In the case of a candidate who has knowledge of riding a scooter or motorcycle, that may be considered as knowledge of cycling also.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2022 Salary Details:
Emoluments in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) are paid to GDS. The following minimum TRCA shall be payable to different categories of GDS after engagement:
- BPM – Rs 12,000
- ABPM/DakSevak – Rs 10,000
Eligibility Criteria for India Post GDS Recruitment 2022
Educational Qualification:
The candidate must have Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard having passed in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of GDS.
The candidate should have studied the local language.e. (Name of Local language) at least up to 10th standard.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age Limit- 18 years
- Maximum Age Limit – 40 years
Age will be determined as on the last date of submission of application as per notification. Permissible relaxations in Upper age limit for different categories as per govt norms.
Selection Process
Selection will be made as per the system generated merit list based on the merit position of the candidate and the preference of posts submitted. This shall be subject to fulfilling of all eligibility criteria as per the rules.

Interested and eligible candidates can submit applications through online mode at https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in or or before June 05, 2022. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be considered.
Application Fee
A fee of Rs 100 is to be paid by the applicants for all posts notified in the chosen Division. However, payment of fee is exempted for all female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwD candidates, and Transwomen candidates.
