Anil believes that every child’s thinking and abilities are different and therefore it is not appropriate to teach all children together from the same curriculum.


Therefore, he has created different courses according to the aptitude and level of the children, and has also devised special field courses to suit their abilities.  The important thing is that no examination is organized in this school.

In this, children are asked questions and based on their feedback, they are divided into a class where they show improvement or decrease in their academic performance.  In addition, sports, craft and other activities of different experiments are also done.  All of these efforts ultimately lead to the conquest of children’s tastes.  For example, when a child usually throws a plastic bottle, he is taught gardening by a useless plastic bottle.

They are taught how to observe bottled seeds, how to nurture them and how to grow plants.  In this way children understand from experience that plastic bottles can be used in many other ways than throwing away and at the same time children are taught the science of biology and plant care.  Older students or students studying in other schools, if they want to study in this school, Anil arranges classes for them from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm after school hours.

Today there is a special focus on STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematical) education.  Such elementary education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects is imparted in Anil’s school IPSFRI, but at the same time special focus is laid on skill development of the students.  Anil’s approach has been to teach these four subjects in different forms according to the level of the child.

Today, STEM education is popular in towns and cities.  While the townspeople are eager to make their children proficient in this, Anil Pradhan thought that even the children of rural areas should not be deprived of STEM education.

Anil Pradhan has opened a new direction in education so that the children of the rural areas do not have to endure the same struggle as he personally faced in the present education system.  We will see some of these innovative educational experiments later.  – Kumarapala Desai
